The Recipe Bin: Bartending Guide - Bourbon

Mint Julep
 

 

  • 2 oz 100 Proof Bourbon
  • 1½ oz Chilled Mint Simple Syrup
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 handfulls fresh mint sprigs
  • 4 or 5 Fresh Mint Sprigs (garnish)
  •  

     
    Syrup:
    Combine sugar with water in a 2-qt saucepan. Add enough mint to fill pan loosely. Boil 5 or 6 minutes, or until liquid turns green. Strain syrup and pour into bottle for future use. Chill.

    Serve in a Mint Julep Glass with Crushed Ice, Garnish with Orange, Cherry and One Sprig of Mint.
