Quotes:

  • Red Queen: I've been a bad, bad girl.

  • Red Queen: I implore you.
    Kaplan: Implore away!

  • Rain: She bit me man, she took a chunk clean right outta me!"

  • Kaplan: You're going to have to work for your meal.

  • Alice: There's a cure!
Rain: Good. I was beginning to worry.

Trivia:

  • This film was originally titled "Resident Evil:Ground Zero," but the title was changed to just "Resident Evil" after the September 11 attacks.

  • One of the men in white biohazard outfits close to the end of the movie makes a reference to transporting Matt to the 'Nemesis' project. The Nemesis is the creature that persues Jill Valentine through Biohazard 3: Last Escape.

  • The plot has several similarities with the movie Ghosts of Mars: the main characters are strong, fighting women; the good guys are in an isolated environment surrounded by zombies; they make their escape on a train chased by the monsters; both movies end with the zombies breaking loose, with the female lead starting to fight them back.

  • There is a shot near the end of the film of Alice's eye close up. This is a direct reference to the first game in the series. The close up eye shot is the logo/title screen of the game.

  • One of the smaller headlines on the newspaper at the end of the film references the S.T.A.R.S. from the first Resident Evil videogame.

Credits Fun:

  • Near the end of the credits, we hear a line of dialogue from Michelle Rodriguez: "When we get out of here, I think I'm gonna get laid."
