- When Sidney comes out of the closet and stabs Billy with an umbrella, the stunt man was supposed to hit a pad on Skeet Ulrichs' chest. The first hit got the pad but the second one slipped and hit him in the chest (you can see it in his reaction too). Wes kept it in because of its authenticity.
- When Sidney is going into her house, the killer comes out of the closet the same way Michael Myers comes out of the closet after Bob in Halloween.
- Casey claims that all of the sequels to A Nightmare on Elm Street "sucked". Wes Craven had sold the rights to sequels before the film was a success and disliked many of the sequels. See also: A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy's Revenge.
