Desert planets are… well… let’s just say that they don’t leave much in the realm of comfort. That should go without saying. But, apparently the inhabitants of the Star Wars universe haven’t fully figured that out. Why else would we so often see people dwelling on planets that just… aren’t nice!? Vicious winds, wicked sands, cruel inhabitants. It just doesn’t add up!

Of course, it isn’t like most people who live on Tatooine or Jakku have a clear desire to be there. Most are either hiding there from criminal punishment, hiding there from criminals who want to do some punishing, or outright slaves… effectively having both at once. Even when they do have relatively decent living conditions, it isn’t very long before things get upset. But, as we always say, you have to make the best of what you have. So, we’re always happy to see folks like Rey who manage to survive with skill, finesse, and grace and still manage to maintain their kindly demeanor!
