Plot Summary:

Teenagers in a small town are dropping like flies, apparently in the grip of mass hysteria causing their suicides. A cop's daughter, Nancy Thompson, traces the cause to child molester Fred Krueger, who was burned alive by angry parents many years before. Krueger has now come back in the dreams of his killers' children, claiming their lives as his revenge. Nancy and her boyfriend, Glen, must devise a plan to lure the monster out of the realm of nightmares and into the real world...

Quotes:

  • Donald: He's dangerous.
Nancy: You don't know he did it!
Donald: No? I know, thanks to your own statement, that he was locked in a room with a girl who went in alive and came out in a rubber bag!

  • Nancy: What gave you the right to take the law into your own hands?
Marge: Because he took it into his hands to kill our kids.

  • Children: One, two, Freddy's coming for you! / Three, four, better lock your door! / Five, six, grab your crucifix! / Seven, eight, better stay up late! / Nine, ten, never sleep again!

  • Donald: What's happening?
Garcia: Well, if it were any more quiet, we could hear owls farting.

  • Freddy Kruger: I'm your boyfriend now, Nancy.

Trivia:

  • In the final scene, the top to the convertible came down faster and harder than expected. The expression from the actors is real.
